Learn more about Lake Mary/Longwood

Longwood is a city of approximately 5.6 square miles and conveniently located near I-4 and State Road 434. Great schools, a booming real estate market, beautiful homes and a rich history has made this award winning city the premiere choice of business and residents, alike. Among many designations Longwood was most notably named as 1 of the 4 safest places to raise a family in Florida, one of the top 10 best places to live in Florida, the 9th best suburb in Florida to raise a family, the 7th best Florida city to start a business and most recently Longwood was ranked as the second best city in the state of Florida for families with children. Longwood is home to Big Tree Park and the 7,000 acre Wekiwa Springs State Park. Antique shops dot Longwood’s quaint downtown while new restaurants and breweries are popping up throughout. Describing this area as “quaint” would be a major understatement. Longwood’s Historic District encompasses roughly 190 acres and has 37 contributing structures. It became part of the National Register of Historic Places in October 1990. The District is the heart and soul of the city, and is well hidden near the intersection of State Road 434 and County Road 427.

Right next door to Longwood lies the award wining town of Lake Mary, voted “America’s 4th Best Place to Live” by Money Magazine. Lake Mary boasts some of the most beautiful private golf and lakefront communities in Central Florida. While distinctly suburban in nature you will never be short of services or activities. The destination property, Seminole Town Center offers well over 1 million square feet of retail, entertainment and dining options. For something more subdued venture no further than Lakeview Ave. and North 4th St. to find Lake Mary’s quaint downtown district where intimate shops and restaurants border the city’s Central Park, providing entertainment options for the young and old alike. Lake Mary is very family oriented with numerous excellent “A” rated public and private school options. To keep the local economy well oiled are a number of large well know companies including the world headquarters of The American Automobile Association (AAA), the Verizon Financial Center, Mitsubishi Motors, several Television Studios and many other large nationally known companies including Dixon Ticonderoga, one of the world’s largest producers of pencils and art supplies.
